Foamboy are a west coast pop duo comprised of producer Wil Bakula and vocalist Katy Ohsiek, creating jazz-inspired danceable pop with a hyper-personal lyrical edge. Wil and Katy have been collaborating musically since 2016. Their debut record ‘My Sober Daydream’, released in 2021, immediately launched them to local indie success, earning recognition from KCRW, Consequence of Sound, and Week in Pop. Their second album ‘Eating Me Alive’ was released in 2024, charted on KCRW and several college radio stations across the country, and the group toured the west coast that summer, as well as playing festivals like Pickathon, Timberfest, and Belltown Bloom.
Now after releasing a short EP and a few singles, the group is excited to be prepping for their next album release in spring 2026 titled ‘Stupid Hot’. The new album promises a turn to more house-inspired dance tracks, with moody synth swells and haunting vocal melodies. Lyrically, the album deals with themes of self-alienation, aging, climate change, and the falling to live up to the expectations of others.

PRESS
“Funky, precise, and layered with icy-cool summertime vibes, this disco-hued track is your jam for extended daylight fun. Foamboy are the Portland duo keeping their dance-pop offerings tight and well-defined. With “Not A Go,” producer Wil Bakula and vocalist Katy Ohsiek display the kind of creative wavelength alignment that leads to effortless success” - KCRW
“Foamboy channels the collection of voices that sing, whisper and shout out from within and arranges those often brutal self-examinations into a modern electro orchestration that seeks to assuage and edify the very core of ourselves, everything that we are, everything we want to be and everything that we potentially can be (even while coping within the confines of an imperfect and traumatizing existence)” - Week In Pop
“My Sober Daydream is full of songs that have the potential to enhance your cultural cred at a dinner party without scaring off your guests. It is progressive without pretension, avant garde with honesty” - I Am Tuned Up
“Producer Wil Bakula and vocalist Katy Ohsiek team up to create an unexpected fusion that fits like bubblegum to your shoe. Danceable compositions that can well be pigeonholed with funk melodies and synth pop sequences, but with a very dynamic jazzy twist, almost experimental in their parameters” - Indie Rocks (Mexico)
“Warm, saturated, and bright, but not harsh, Foamboy’s energy is ultimately as comforting as a soak in a bubble bath – the perfect soundtrack for a soul-healing, unplugged moment” - AudioFemme
